Where are we?

Ecton lies in Staffordshire, in the south-west corner of the Peak District National Park in the valley of the River Manifold.  The nearest villages are Warslow and Hartington.  Set on Ecton Hill itself, the G A Cox Study Centre, named after the late owner, and now owned by the Ecton Mine Educational Trust, is used as a base for the day, providing basic field laboratory facilities enabling mineral testing, and other mineral and environmental activities.
